This cabin is located north of Granite Pass at the south end of Shorty's Meadow which is just above the first stock fence north of the pass. Shorty Lovelace built almost two dozen of these small trapper cabins in the area that became Kings Canyon National Park. Shorty trapped on the North Fork of the Kings River after he was kicked out of the park.
